CaFHS commitment to the safety of staff and families
24 Mar 2020

With the impact of COVID-19, it’s important that staff and families continue to feel supported and safe during this unprecedented time.

CaFHS is following strict advice from the Australian Government and SA Health to minimise the spread of this virus. In addition to our existing hygiene standards and measures, such as:

  • Regularly washing and/or sanitising hands
  • Regularly sanitising toys, books and other items located in waiting rooms after each use
  • Sanitising clinic areas and equipment between each appointment.

CaFHS is also:

  • Asking all families if they have travelled overseas or been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days, before entering the clinic, or booking an appointment and deterring appointments as required or providing phone consultations
  • Asking all families if anyone in the house is unwell (ie contagious) prior to arranging appointments for home visits
  • Displaying signs at all entries to buildings to alert families/the public prior of factors that would prevent entry
  • Offering families phone (and soon video) consultations as an alternative to home, or clinic visits if families are not wanting face to face contact
  • Cancelling all group face to face services and offering alternatives
  • Offering Early Parenting Groups through video and online materials rather than meeting face to face
  • Regularly sanitising all surfaces in common areas including cars, meeting rooms, work spaces, desks and phones
  • Carrying and using hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes in all CaFHS fleet cars
  • Cancelling staff meetings of large groups or holding them via phone or online
  • Reducing the number of non-essential meetings and reviewing office space to support social distancing
  • Separating chairs in clinic waiting rooms to ensure social distancing
  • Ensuring staff who feel unwell for any reason to remain at home
  • Ensuring any staff who have travelled overseas to isolate for 14 days

CaFHS is continually reviewing its processes in response to the emerging information and will continue to update our practices as the situation changes.
