Are you drinking enough tap water?
26 Dec 2011
Do you drink lots of bottled water (eg. spring water) or tank water? Do you avoid drinking tap water?
A recent survey of 10,000 kids under 15 years of age showed that the kids who only drank bottled water or tank water had around 50% more holes in their baby teeth than those who drank tap water.
What caused the difference?
Tap water in Australia has had fluoride added to it for many years. The results have been stronger teeth and a lot less tooth decay for kids.
Fruit juice and fizzy drinks, including some sports drinks have sugar in them. If you don't clean teeth after drinking sugary drinks, or at least rinse your mouth out with water, then the sugar starts to 'eat' your teeth!
In South Australia
