Blood tests for your newborn baby - newborn screening test

All parents are offered the opportunity to have their baby screened for a number of rare disorders. This test is called the ‘newborn screening’. You might also hear it called the ‘heel prick’ test. Before the test is done you will be given a pamphlet which tells you more about this test.
